I don't know where this quote came from but I try to live it and certainly do think a few people I know should try it.

4th of July***

4 th of July is finally here. It is a marker for me, MidSummer. Usually I am working as much overtime as I can at this time of year. This year there is no work, let alone overtime. I called around to different halls to find where the work is. It is pretty slim picking.

As always with travelling it is a gamble. I called San Mateo, nothing. I called Kelso-Longview, they suggested Tacoma. I called Tacoma and they said they have been dipping into book two but the people at the top of book two have been signing in for about 6 months. I called the Tri-Cities, occasional book two with no out look for more.

I also found out that Washington is no longer reciprocal with any other states. I am not sure about Idaho, Oregon or others. I didn't look into it because there is no work so why bother.

I was hoping this summer would show hope for work but it looks like we have another year of desperation.

Resign is this monday, July 5th. I think I will email Liz and see if she is going in, maybe we can spend a little time on a breakfast.

Sisters of the IBEW

I found a new group on facebook....Sisters of the IBEW. I don't know much about this group but I am hoping it will be supportive and entertaining.

Resign

I missed resign this month. I will have to start all over again on the books. What a bummer.
I keep hoping I will be going back to work soon. I have looked online all over the country and found no place with any amount of work. The most promising was 112 and Tacoma. Even these two location only offer hope in the next six months.

How lucky am I? Very!! I had lunch with a friend, Liz, who is so diverse, unexpected and kind. From her I learn so many things. I wish I had even half her energy. Liz, you make me smile.

I talked to Ingrid today. It is such a relief to have a good friend that has shared so many of the same problems and experiences. She always has a fresh look at life and is wonderful support.

I am slowly adjusting to the changes in my life. I still check the calls on most days, login to richierich and read all the constrution articles in the newspaper. I wish I could at least be invovled with the hall but being housebound limits my possibilities.

I keep in touch with a few of my friends from my working days. Soon I will be one of the old timers that only a few remember......

It is so strange not to go to work each day. For so many years I looked forward to most days at work and now it almost disappointing to realize I will not be seeing all the great people at work. I won't have the challenge of work projects, the pride of completing tasks and the companionship of my brothers and sister.
